Lush VIP Haircare Launch Party at Lush Telford

Last night, my sister and I went to the Lush store in Telford for the VIP Haircare Launch Party.

Champagne, strawberries and some very tasty chocolate truffles, spoilt.

Even better, the event was free to attend.

To start with, we had an introduction to the 8 new haircare products.

Some of the products I wasn't keen on scent-wise but a few I really want to try!

After the presentation, we were then let loose on the store, trying out different products and sniffing everything, as you do in Lush, haha!

We then had arm massages. I chose Soft Coeur Massage Bar, which was massaged in to my arm, followed with some Vanilla Puff dusting powder. My arm still smells amazing today! I was trying not to spend any money due to saving for London on Monday but I couldn't resist. I bought Soft Coeur and Vanilla Puff! I did good though, as there was SO much I wanted, including a few of the new products :)

We were then shown the Emotional Brilliance collection and had a go on the wheel.

My results were:

Drive, Calm and Decisive.

I tried Drive as a lipstick, as I love purple lips.

One of the guys had 2 of the Emotional Brilliance colours in his hair, which I originally thought was actual hair dye, it looked very cool!

Here's some photos from the night:

Donna wearing Charm as lipstick
I dislike this photo, but this is Drive.
 and here's my goodies:
Purchases:
Soft Coeur Massage Bar £4.75
Vanilla Puff Dusting Powder £4.50

Samples:
I also picked up a copy of Lush Times, to tempt me even more!

Donna and I had a fab couple of hours at the party.
Thanks to the lovely guys and girls at Lush Telford :)

Go check out the new haircare products when you can, there's some good ones!
The products are also available online on the Lush website.

(I'm going to do a Weekend in Outfits post for this weekend, so details about my OOTN will be in that :) I'm now going to get ready and head off for an afternoon and evening in Blackpool. Road trip, Illuminations, yay!)

LUSH: Happy Blooming Luxury Bath Melt

For my birthday last month, my lovely gran got me this Lush Happy Blooming Luxury Bath Melt.

Last night, I finally got round to trying it out (I have a lot of bath and shower products that I am making my way through!).

Wowee, I like!

The melt can be broken in to 3 sections, meaning 3 luxury baths.

I used 1 third last night and was very surprised with how good just 1 piece is!

Very moisturising.

Turned the water a lovely pink.

The scent was amazing and really stayed around.

The scent may not be to everyone's taste but I personally LOVE it!
The smell is a mixture of cherries with a subtle hint of Play Doh.

Just check out the ingredients:
(Taken from Lush website)
Quantitative Ingredients
Calamine Powder, Cocoa Butter, PEG-6 Caprylic / Capric Glycerides, Passionflower Seed Oil, Perfume, Dried Cherries, Freshly Juiced Passion Fruit , Titanium Dioxide, Ylang Ylang Oil, Benzoin Resinoid, Colour 14700

Impressive, huh?

And sticking to their usual greatness, this product is:
  • Preservative Free
  • Vegan
  • Full of fresh natural ingredients (and some safe synthetics!)
I would really recommend this product, along with all Lush products.  I don't think I've ever had a product from Lush that I have not been happy with!

I'm not a bath lover, I much prefer showers but this made for a long, enjoyable bath.

Happy Blooming costs £3.95.

More info about Happy Blooming can be found on the Lush website.

Have you tried Happy Blooming?
Are you a fan of bath melts?

Soap & Glory Haul and a Summery Sunday Summary

On Friday night, whilst heading to Cardingmill Valley, I stopped by Boots at the retail park. I had seen on Soap & Glory's Facebook page after work, that a new product has been released, Rich and Foamous...

I HAD TO HAVE IT!

There was 1 bottle left, hidden behind some other products!

As there was a 3 for 2 offer on, I just couldn't resist. Bye bye Download Festival spending money...

So, I picked up Rich & Foamous, Scrub Actually and Breakfast Scrub, none of which I have tried yet. Apparently Rich & Foamous is a good accompaniment to Breakfast Scrub. Technically, Rich & Foamous was free with Boots 3 for 2 offer! Total for all 3 products £16.50.

I'm looking forward to trying these and will report back my review :)

I also got a free gift bag, so cute! I picked one up that just had a text design, then my sister spotted this super-cute design, so I swapped all my goodies to this bag!

and the No7 £5 vouchers are now back, incase anyone is a No7 fan :)

Excuse flash.

As I was heading to pay, trying to avoid spotting anything else, I set my eyes on another Soap & Glory product that I hadn't actually seen before, Peaches and Clean. I decided to leave it and save my money...

Fast forward to the next day...

Yesterday, my sister and I went to Telford to do some shopping, mainly for Download essentials and to go to see the Lush Compounders on Tour and make our own bath bomb, more about this soon! I'll do a combined post about that and today's Lush Clipper Facemask Workshop :) I've had 2 days of making Lush goodies, which we got to keep, free! Yay :) Thanks Lush!
So, I ended up purchasing Peaches and Clean! I was going to do the 3 for 2 again but couldn't decide which other 2 products to get and I needed to save my money.

If you follow me on Twitter (@ameliasallsorts), you may have read that I was very very unwell yesterday, I wasn't sure any of this weekend's plans would happen but I survived, hoorah. Never want to eat fish again, I can only assume it was Friday night's fish! I've completely lost my appetite though, I'm just craving fruit and ice lollies...

Today, my sister and I went to Manchester to the mentioned Lush Clipper Facemask Workshop and for a little shop. I got a few things, more Download money a-bye-bye... Not doing very well here. Haul post soon...

As I keep mentioning Download and will more than likely mention it a lot more over the next week and 3 days, I should warn... excitement levels are very high and continue to rise! One week Wednesday, Download Festival, OH YEAH!

That's all for now, rambled on way too much in this post.

I'm currently chilling, enjoying the cooler weather, with Gaymers Pear Cider with Raspberry (YUM) and Kings of Leon playing on the stereo <3 Bliss.

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend!

Current Shower Time Faves :)

Happy Friday!!!

I love smelly bath and shower products, so thought I'd share with you the products that I am currently using :)
I'm trying to make my way through a mass collection of products at the moment, I haven't even finished my Boxing Day Sale Lush goodies, or started on my Soap & Glory Big Splendour case!
and I now have a Bomb Cosmetics gift set, which my lovely parents gave me for Easter (I'll post about this soon!).
I'm one of those people who smell products in shops and if there's a bargain, I grab it, then I realised I had an issue and really wish I had an en-suite bathroom for all my cosmetics...

Anyone else have the same problem??

FYI - I'm a shower girl :)
I only have baths if I have bath products to use up!

Anyway, on to what I am currently using (minus my Lush Magic Wand, which I forgot to photograph and now it's a mess!).

Glittering shampoo and conditioner!!
I blogged about these here.

 Queen of...
Ta-da!
Shaving Gel
I paid about £3-3.50 from Boots.
I love this.
Re-purchased :)
Smells like Pina Colada, contains tea tree and aloe vera and is just brilliant!
It leaves my skin feeling so soft after shaving.
There is another one available too, which I need to try!

Venus Embrace
Razor
Not sure how much I paid for this, about £6 from Boots?
Venus razors are just fab!

Lush Snow Fairy
I got this during my Boxing Day Sale haul, once I managed to find a bottle after a woman raided both of Manchester's Lush stores buying every bottle, every size, that she could get her hands on (blatantly to sell for profit!!!)
Half price at £5.
This is only available at Christmas time.
The smell and product is just so gorgeous and girly! It has iridescent glitter in it too :)

I Love... Juiced Up Blackcurrant
£2.05, Superdrug
Smells so yummy!
The scent reminds me of Lush's Sweetie Pie Jelly :)

Both of these lather a treat and can be used in the shower and bath.
Pretty gels :)
Not far off finished...
The Snow Fairy has been open for a few months!

I Love... Tropical Paradise
Moisturising Body Lotion
£2.05, Superdrug
This just smells like Summer in the Caribbean!
(If I'd ever been to the Caribbean, that is!)
So moisturising but not greasy.
Fast drying too :)

I Love... Cosmetics are great value and great quality.
So many products in their line, I am excited to try more!

Have you tried any of these products?
What are you favourite showertime goodies?
and the big question...
Bath or Shower??

Have a lovely weekend!
Let's hope the rain stops for at least a day...

Lush Storage and Ecoflo Re-use :)

OMG...what a stress! Some of you may have noticed that my Comments have recently become invisible, meaning I was unable to read them without highlighting over them... Well, I have been stressing, trying to find a solution and doing some HTML, following a website guide I found here my comments are now visible, PHEW!!

Anywaaay, tonight I am posting about Lush and how I store my Lush and re-use the Ecoflo (100% biodegradable potato starch), which Lush use to fill out their gift boxes.

Lush also sometimes use popcorn, which is also biodegradable :)

Being an environmentally friendly company, Lush use these 2 types of packaging as they are better than plastic/polystyrene and also biodegradable, so can be put in compost bins/heaps!
Plus they are a lot more exciting...or is that just me being a bit dorky?? Hehe :)

So, I don't have a compost bin/heap and for those of you who don't own one, or know of anyone with one, here's what I do with my Ecoflo...

Plastic container...

2 boxes full of Ecoflo from my recent Lush haul...

Pour in the 'Rainbow Wotsits'...

Here's one I made earlier...

and place products in :)
Tadaaaa!

This keeps the products fresh and is a great way of storing them.
You can leave the lid off the box to keep your room smelling fresh and Lush too ;)

I also have another one of these, with some older Lush products in.
I re-use them again and again but if ever I don't need them, I will give to my colleague who has a compost heap :)

and as for the sealed (bottles/tubs) products...
I am currently storing them in one of the Lush cardboard boxes, before putting in the cardboard recycling, naturally :)

For more information on Lush's environmental good-doing click here.
and for their lovely products here :)

What do you think?
How do you store your Lush goodies??
