HELP: Hair Colour Dilemma!

Hello lovelies.

I have an open dilemma tonight and would love opinions, please :)

I've put this on my personal Facebook and so far it's about 11-3 in favour of blonde, though the people who say purple know me and my style best.
I put this on Twitter but only had 1 reply, from the lovely Laura who said 'wow you're so lucky, both colours look amazing on you. I love both! If I had to choose though the purple xx', which made me smile :)
and IRL: it's pretty much 50/50 with the office ladies hating blonde, family loving blonde - some friends saying blonde, some saying purple.

I'm so indecisive, I just don't know what to do but it's my birthday next week and I'd like to finally sort it by then.

The other issue is blonde means hairdressers, money and the risk of further ruin.
Purple/other means about £5 per box, home dying by my sister.
Blonde is also high maintenance...

Here's (quite a few) photos of my hair blonde and purple...
Please leave comments below :)

Blonde Vs Purple:

The very first purple from blonde:

My hair a month before, with some clip-in extensions that we tried the purple dye on:

Some of my blonde shades/looks that I liked:

Some of my favourite purple shades/looks:

Different shades of purple:

(Above is the current shade/s)

The current root situation:

(Photo taken at Download Festival - hair was destroyed!)

More recent photos:

My sister put some Loreal Casting Creme Gloss in 515 Chocolate Truffle on last year...it showed slightly but was no match for the purple underneath and faded within a matter of days:

and for those who question my natural colour...

Damn that little girl above with her natural bright blonde locks!
(and look at the face on my little sister, haha)

I've been many colours over the years, I lose track of all the colours. Always wanted to do a Hairstory post but trying to remember all the colours that I have been and find photos is difficult.

However, I will tell you my WORST colour choice ever...
BLACK, JET BLACK!!!
- Never again O.o

and going back to blonde from said jet black was a looooong, expensive process.

Hair colours I'd love to try:
Ariel (The Little Mermaid) red
Candy colours
Dip-dye
Ombre
Turquoise
- I planned to do something crazy for Download but again, could not decide in time :(

I loved blonde, but I loved the purple.
But then I'd quite like to try a different colour...
Though people keep complimenting my current look and saying it works quite well, at the Batiste Lace launch I was told it was 'Root Attitude'.
I definitely had more compliments since I've been purple but I just feel like changing...
Damn you, indecisive mind, damn you!

I currently have a stash of dyes and some colour removal that I have accumulated recently!

Anyway, I'd love to hear your thoughts on what colour I should go.

I just can't decide, way too indecisive.

Hope you are all having a good week :)

xXx

  1. I think you should do dip dye from blond to purple just because I'm so indecisive haha!! You really do suit both colours but my favourite is the blond!!

  2. I think dip dye would be cool, otherwise I'd say a dark purple, you have all your adult life to be a normal blonde :P I'm a new follower of your blog by the way, really like it!

    1. You have a very good point there ;) I am going more in the direction of the purple again or a similar vivid colour!
      Thank you very much :)

  3. I agree with the other girls, dip dye would be awesome, but if you don't want to do that I'd go blonde because if you change your mind it would be easier to go to purple from blonde rather than to go to blonde from purple if that makes sense x

    1. Ahh, Hayley...your point is also a good one. I did consider this. Go blonde, then dye it purple or other, only problem would be I'd have to pay for hairdressers to get it blonde then probably change it after a few days XD Also, a little worried about what going blonde would do to my hair...

    1. I know, I'd love turquoise, I just imagine it would be difficult to keep up/maintain. Also, not sure how it would go down at work...though they were very welcoming when I went in with bright purple on the Monday after leaving on Friday blonde :p After the initial shock settled down :D

    1. Aww, thank you lovely :D I do love the purple and people complemented it a lot, which was lovely! Even now when it's faded and multi-tonal with major roots people still say it's nice and I'm like whatttt? I'm kinda thinking along the lines of Colour B4 this week to strip it down to some form of all-over colour (if possible!), then use the red before my birthday Sunday, then go purple again the week after for my weekend away...sounds like a great plan, as long as my hair doesn't die :-/

    1. Thank you :D Yeah, that's kinda why I love the purple, not many people have it, it's different and suits my style. Definitely verging more towards purple again, or maybe the red, then purple after that!

Ohh, that is such a good idea! I've got loads of photos saved on my laptop under an album simply entitled 'Hair'. A girl in HMV today had a gorgeous dip dye. Blonde waved hair with a mix of 2 blues in dip dye, it was so nice! Then I saw a girl with lilac hair. Major hair envy!

  9. Ahhhh I love both blonde and purple, I could also see you as bright red too. When I was shopping in town a few weeks back I seen a girl with peach hair, id never seen anyone with that colour hair before but i just loved it. If I had to choose I think I like the blonde better, but I just like blonde hair in general because thats what I like better on myself too even tho everyone tells me they like me with dark hair better. Being blonde is very expensive and it does ruin your hair. I dunnooo... just go with your gut feeling. You will look fab either way :):) x x

    1. Aww, thank you lovely :D I know, very tempted to try red and as I have a bottle I thought why not...
What...peach hair?! OMGosh. That sounds amazing.
I think you look nice with both blonde and dark hair ;)
That's the thing, the expense and ruin...I'm a little concerned what might happen to my hair as it is pretty dry at the ends :-/
I haven't even been to the hairdressers for about 2 years nearly :)

    1. Thank you :D Cool, I do love purple hair! You sound like me, wanting to change but not sure. I still haven't made up my mind, so still rocking the faded multi-coloured look haha. Though my mum said yesterday 'I like your hair as it is, it looks cool!'. My sister was like 'don't tell her that, she NEEDS to dye it!'.
      Aw, thank you!! xx
