This post is a bit later in the night than I planned but I kinda fell asleep after work, for most of the night. Hate that! (I've also had issues with my laptop and memory card...)
So, recently I have developed a little obsession for Model's Own nail polishes.
It all started with Hedkandi Ibiza Mix and I have since purchased 4 more polishes!
I did a post on Beach Party, another Hedkandi collection polish and also one of my Tiger Nails using Beach Party.
Posts will appear very soon of the other polishes :-)
Since Saturday I have been sporting Disco Mix and I LOVE it!!
How gorgeous is this?
The polish is full of blue and purple glitter.
I used 1 coat of Rimmel's Purple Reign as a base.
Model's Own polishes cost £5 each but are currently on 3 for 2 in Boots.
What is your favourite Model's Own polish?
I have done some shopping recently (that I shouldn't have!), so I will have a post on my purchases and also some more outfit posts, stay tuned :-)
I also need to have a catch up on other girlies blogs.
I feel like a total slacker for not really getting chance to blog/read others for a few days due to the long weekend and my adventures!
Thank you for all the lovely comments on my previous posts. I will reply to these now!
Today at work I was sporting some seriously crazy-bright nails!
Model's Own Hedkandi Beach Party polish.
Yes, it all started with Ibiza Mix last week and then at the weekend I couldn't resist and purchased another 4 Model's Own polishes, Hello New Obsession!
- I will post about my recent hauling very soon ;-)
I tried to take a photo with the flash on, but it came out like this...
Which further leads me to think this polish is very likely fluorescent...
- I hope it is, that would make it so much cooler than it already it :)
I may wear it on my night out in Birmingham Thursday and test it under the UV lights!
I can't explain how much I am loving these polishes, they are real stand-out showstoppers, great application, quick drying, just amazing and only £5 each (or 3 for 2 in Boots at the moment!)
I went in to work today, realising on my walk to work just HOW BRIGHT this polish was, which was confirmed when I took a drink in to the Directors meeting and their male visitor said 'wow, I like the nails!', followed by one of the Directors saying 'I was almost blinded then!', haha. See, showstopper!
I never thought much of orange nails before but this I love.
I was going to change my nails again tonight but had an idea to keep the Beach Party going a little longer and add a little something, which will be following this post in a few moments...
Do you have any of the Model's Own Hedkandi collection yet?
On Thursday night I went to Tesco as I needed to get a couple of things.
I was in need of some shampoo and conditioner, as my Johnson's Baby Shampoo was almost gone.
So, I was very excited to find L'Oreal Elvive Nutri Gloss Crystal Sparkling Shampoo and Conditioner.
That's right...GLITTER LOADED SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER!!!
AMAZE.
I'm such a girl!
Added bonus, Buy One Get One Free - Thanks, Tesco.
The conditioner was about 90p more than the conditioner, I think it was £3.79? So that's how much it cost me for the shampoo and conditioner together - bargain!
(400ml bottles)
I wasn't sure how well this would work (and frankly didn't care - it glittered!) BUT, I can report that this stuff is SO, SO GOOD!
It lathers ridiculously well, smells lovely and leaves my hair feeling and looking soft and nice.
Another plus for me, is that my hair is very tangle-prone but since the first use of these it has improved greatly and doesn't really tangle at all now, MIRACLE WORKER!
So pleased with these products and I would recommend trying them.
Go get them whilst they are on BOGOF :)
Have you tried L'Oreal Elvive Nutri Gloss Crystal Sparkling Shampoo and Conditioner??
Last night I went to Birmingham to watch one of my favourite bands, Kids in Glass Houses <3
The guys were supporting You Me at Six, along with Mayday Parade and The Skints (we missed The Skints!).
The gig was awesome.
KIGH absolutely smashed it, as always.
I have seen them 9 times now over the past 5 years and still get excited like it's Christmas every time I see them.
One of the best bands live. So much energy, charisma, entertaining, great musicians and Aled is one of the greatest frontmen, EVER.
Sadly, we didn't get to meet the guys this time :-( I dislike seeing them live and not meeting them, so used to meeting them now! Boo.
Anyway, as you can tell, I am still on a KIGH...sorry, I just had to!
I am still on a high from the gig, even though I didn't get home til 2:30am, was in agony from wearing 5 inch heels at the gig, had 3 hours sleep and then (I don't know how) I walked a good couple of miles to work this morning!...must have been the excitement and listening to some great tunes on my journey to work (KIGH included, of course!).
Here's what I wore:
Top: River Island
Skirt: The Infamous Faux Leather, Primark
Tights: Asda
Shoes: Primark (year or so ago!)
Bag: Birthday present off Kelly a couple of years ago, New Look
The Shoes:
Gig shoes - Driving shoes
The heels killed, but I felt older and was taller and had a 5 inch height advantage so could actually see the stage! I only noticed one other girl wearing heels there, everyone else was in Vans, Converse or military boots...
The Nails:
Lefty: Barry M Black, Rio white nail art pen and Models Own Hedkandi Ibiza Mix on the thumb.
Righty: Barry M Black with Models Own Hedkandi Ibiza Mix
The Face:
Had the dramatic eye going on.
My hair is so shiny after using my new shampoo and conditioner (post very soon!)
The face consists of the usual foundation and powder, Accesorize Diva blush, some charcoal eyeshadow from 17, L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes mascara, Barry M Waterproof eyeliner and Vivo Frosted Pink lipgloss.
The Photos:
Some (a load!) of photos from the night...
The venue from the car park.
Tickets and nails :)
Outside the venue, where we joined the tiny Box Office queue, as the kind security said it was ok :)
Few minutes later, we were in!
The main queue was down the road, round the block, thousands of people back!!
Kind security! Makes a change for security and staff to actually be friendly and chatty, that was nice.
Mayday Parade.
Kelly and I, living the KIGH life :)
Kids in Glass Houses.
You Me at Six.
Kelly revealed she is a proper geek and had a mission of finding £1 in change on the floor...she had 30p, then I spotted a whole £1 coin, so she picked it up and was very happy...BLESS.
Picked up these cute little flyers for Diamond Days :)
Sitting in the ride, waiting in the warmth after the gig, in hope of meeting the guys but sadly they had left when we were still in the venue :-(
DUDE.
Faux pas.
This would be why I said that there was to be no eating in my car after the valet 2 weeks ago!
So there we have it :)
Loved loved LOVED last night, so much.
Love gigs.
Love music.
Love live, amazing bands :)
Next up: Lostprophets, 23 April, O2 Academy Birmingham.
I hope you all had a great weekend!
I will leave you with Kids in Glass Houses latest song, one of my favourites and where the name of this post came from :)
Check them out.
Great video too (even if you only see the guys briefly!).
I haven't got time to do a proper post today, lame, I know! I am about to enter a complete panic-rush in prep for tonight's gig in Birmingham! I'm leaving to drive there in approx 2 hours 40 mins and am still stuck between 2 outfits and I am currently feeling pretty crap too :-(
But still, I'm going to see Kids in Glass Houses!!!!
Woo!
This will be the 8th or 9th time...9th I think, that I have seen them and I still get excited every time <3
You Me at Six + Kids in Glass Houses + Mayday Parade + The Skints
+ The Ballroom Birmingham (Formerly the good old Carling Academy/O2 Academy)
+ One of my besties, Jesus
= ONE HELL OF A NIGHT AHEAD!!!!
Anyway, I have SO SO much to post, as always! I've done some naughty shopping recently and spent some of my funds which were supposed to be for my Birmingham trip next week...
So lots to share :)

Nice of the weather to go against the crappy forecast and be lush :)
