I am really enjoying nail art and trying different designs at the moment, so expect more to come!
I have a list of designs that I want to try.

Talking of nails: the Blogosphere is going crazy over Model's Own Hedkandi collection and in particular the Ibiza Mix polish, which I amazingly found in Chester last weekend!!

Selfridges Girls Night In Event

Hello Dolls :)

I am SO behind with posts and still have an ever-growing list...

For tonight, I thought I would just share a little something exciting with you.

Selfridges Girls Night In

Yes, Selfridges Birmingham is currently hosting this fab event, every Thursday from 5-9pm until 26 April in the Beauty Hall on Level 3.

As far as I know, the event is free.

The event is only running at the Birmingham store, so if you are from/in the area, go check it out for a great girly night.

If the Christmas Beauty event that I attended in December was anything to go by, this will be SO much fun!

From the website:
Each counter will be on hand to provide you with various demonstrations and tips.
You’ll also be treated to a special gift with purchase from selected brands.

The website gives a number and email to book you and your girlies in, however, after numerous unanswered calls and an email, I gave up.  Luckily, I stopped by Birmingham on my train changeover from London back in February, so I went in and asked, to which I was informed to 'just turn up', no booking required.

I really can't wait to attend this event!
Beauty, complimentary Champagne and cocktails and one of my besties :)

After the stores shut, we are going for a night out in Birmingham and staying over, before doing a bit more shopping the following day, yay!

I will, of course, be blogging about the event afterwards.

More information can be found on the Selfridges website.

Have you attended Selfridges Girls Night In?
Do you plan to attend?

Model's Own: Hedkandi Ibiza Mix!!!

Whilst shopping in Chester yesterday, I had a look in Boots for the new Model's Own Beetlejuice Indian Ocean nail polish.
Sadly, I didn't find any
...BUT...

I found something EVEN MORE amazing!!!

Pretty amazing, huh?!

This is Model's Own Hedkandi 'Ibiza Mix' and it is the new love of my nail polish life!!

Some pics:

1 coat...

I thought this little strip of 5 golden pieces was so cute!
Is that sad?

2 coats...

and if you are wondering what colour I used for the base...

Nails Inc. 'Kate' polish, which I got last year as part of the Limited Edition Kate and Wills collection :)

What do you think of Ibiza Mix?
Will you be dashing out to purchase?

Model's Own polishes retails for a marvellous £5!!
There are a few other polishes in the Hedkandi collection (which I had heard nothing of, until I spotted some of them in Telford on Thursday, then Ibiza Mix in Chester!); 3 bright colours and a golden glitter with a blue/green sparkle, Disco Heaven.  I saw Disco Heaven in Telford on Thursday and I am now thinking I MAY have to return and purchase :)

I hope you all had a lovely weekend!

I Used To Bite My Nails...

That's right...this girl, who is obsessed with nails actually used to bite them once upon a time!!

How did I stop/break the habit? I hear you ask, well...

THIS!

...and reading about how biting nails is dirtier than licking a dirty toilet (grim, I know, I read this when I was in secondary school!).

Nail The Habit was an absolute miracle worker for me and I would totally recommend it, if you bite your nails!

I used it a few times and that was my nail biting days over, forever! Nowadays, the thought of biting my nails makes me squirm.

Nail The Habit can be purchased from Boots (and other stores, I assume...)
and retails for £2.50.

One word of warning though...do not lick your fingers when eating if you have used Nail The Habit!! I still remember it now, haha! I also remember eating a sandwich one day and where I had held the sandwich tasted like Nail The Habit. Honestly, you don't know how bad this is until you try the stuff!!! Eurgh.
(This is nothing negative about the product, just be wary when eating/don't lick your fingers, haha!)

(Also, this is not a paid for/sponsored post, just me sharing some helpful tips)

Joliebox March

I got home from work today to find my Joliebox waiting for me, yay!

I didn't even realise it was on the way.

Story is, I planned to cancel my subscription after the last box, then was too late and the money for this box was taken.

Tonight I cancelled my subscription to both Joliebox and Glossybox.
Beauty boxes just don't excite me anymore and I have so many products from previous beauty boxes, which I still need to use/find use for!
Also, I figured the £9.95-12.95 per month could be used elsewhere, for example, on a MAC or Illamasqua product :)

Anyway, on to the March Joliebox and what I got:

2 coats.

This month's box also came with the first edition of Joliemag, a lovely little addition to the box.

My Thoughts:

Overall, this is a good box.
All products are full-size, which is great.
The nail polish is lovely except for being a bit thin...
The eyeliner is Midnight Blue but swatched slightly greenish.
The Yardley Peony Luxury Body Wash smells nice, it's just I have SO many bath/shower products to use at the moment.
The Davines Authentic Moisturising Balm looks lovely, feels nice and moisturising but I am not fond of the scent.
I am happy with this box, but not overly blown away and as I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I have now cancelled my subscription, for various reasons.
I also preferred the previous shredded paper packaging, rather than the new drawstring bag. The paper could be recycled, where as the bag (which I now have 2 of) needs a use for...

Did you get this month's Joliebox?
What do you think?

For more information about Joliebox, check out the website.

Time to catch up on comments and watch The Big Bang Theory :)

It's almost Friday folks, woo!

Maybelline Eye Studio 'Blue Moon'

Sorry to hog your Dashboards girlies :)
This is my final post of the night, promise!

Following my last 2 posts, A Little Sunday Spending and Miss Sporty Dr Balm, here is the final product I got from Boots on Sunday.

This was a complete steal...
I found it in the Clearance box, which I now make sure I ALWAYS check, after finding a few great things since discovering my local Boots actually has a Clearance box!!

Maybelline Eye Studio in shade '40' Blue Moon
...
£1.99!!!
Yes, £1.99!!
I checked and they usually retail for £6.99.
and I had wanted this for ages!
WIN.
This was the only one in the box, so I grabbed it :)

Swatches:
(Please ignore my super sexy nail, it broke! Pastels & Polka Dots nail post can be found here)

Stunning colours, I am really looking forward to wearing these :)

Have you found any good 'steals' recently?

Miss Sporty Dr Balm

If you read my previous post, you would have seen that I made a few little purchases on Sunday.
Well, I shouldn't have been spending money, but had a little to spare and fancied a little pick-me-up.
So, I was happy when I discovered these little babies in Boots :)

Miss Sporty Dr Balm
£1.99 each
They are on 3 for 2, but I wasn't overly fussed on the other shade that my local Boots had in, so I got a nail polish (see bottom of post).

'A healing, moisturising balm for super soft lips with a hint of colour'
There are 5 shades in total.
They smell like watermelon/very sweet, which could be slightly sickly but the product is fab :)

So much for not buying any more lip balms...

Anyway, here are some photos and swatches :)

I also picked up a nail polish, as there was a 3 for 2 offer on Miss Sporty :)

'346' China Glaze
£1.99 (free on 3 for 2!)
I will post about this when I use it :)

Do you own any of these?
Are you considering buying any?

In case you are wondering about my polka dot nails, I blogged about them the other night ;-)

Up next, Maybelline Eye Studio...

A Little Sunday Spending

On Sunday we went for a Mother's Day meal, which was lovely! Mum enjoyed her day and gifts, then decided her and dad wanted to go to a local pub, which my sister and I are not fond of...

So, we decided to go to the retail park for a browse.

I left Boots with a few little things with some of my remaining funds :)

Here's what I got:

Grand total £5.97 - bargain, yes?

Quick swatches...
Posts coming up next with more photos and details :)

I then went and did what everyone expected would never happen (after much ear-bashing from my sister!!)...I took Betty to have a mini valet!!!

She's clean!!

...I even have my Barbie mats in now!
(These have been in my boot since I bought them nearly a year ago...)

Posts to follow with swatches of my new products mentioned in this post :)
